ICC YAAF – Crash Course on Arbitration
On 22 May 2024, UMBRA, in collaboration with ICC YAAF and ICC Indonesia, hosted an enlightening workshop event titled “ICC YAAF: Crash Course on Arbitration” at Fakultas Hukum Universitas Indonesia. As Indonesia’s ICC YAAF representative, our Nikki Krisadtyo provided the opening remarks for the event, which was followed by presentations by esteemed speakers, which covered different aspects of arbitration. Our Senior Partner and Head of the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Team, Melati Siregar, along with other esteemed experts, had the pleasure of sharing their expert knowledge on arbitration:
· Kabir Singh – Partner at Clifford Chance LLP and member of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC
· Prof. Yetty Komalasari – Professor of Economic and Technology Law at Universitas Indonesia
· Edwina Kharisma, CCP – Indonesia Legal Head (Director) at GSK Indonesia
· Indiana Rai – Deputy Director, Arbitration and ADR, Indonesia, at ICC Dispute Resolution Services
Melati had the opportunity to impart invaluable insights during her presentation titled “How to Strategise Your Cases for Favourable Outcomes.” Melati methodically navigated through the complexities of arbitration proceedings, from pre-arbitration preparations to post-arbitration procedures. Drawing from her extensive experience, Melati provided attendees with practical knowledge and strategies in handling arbitration cases.
The event was concluded with an interactive discussion between the speakers and participants and a networking session. We are immensely proud to have co-hosted such an informative event, which underscores our firm’s commitment to disseminating knowledge not only to the professional legal community but also to future practitioners.
