Bersih Indonesia Programme
We extend our congratulations to Alliance To End Plastic Waste (the Alliance) for the kick off of the Bersih Indonesia Programme (Bersih Indonesia). Bersih Indonesia is a co-operative effort between the Alliance and the Malang Regency, supported by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs. The programme aims to establish effective, replicable, and economically viable integrated waste management systems in underserved communities, contribute to the reduction of plastic waste leakage, and increase recycling rates in Indonesia.
Phase One of Bersih Indonesia will begin in Malang Regency, East Java, and in its first phase it aims to build two Material Recovery Facilities and two transfer stations over the next two years. Once completed, the goal is to collect and process approximately 140,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste, as well as create an estimated 1,400 local jobs.
Led by our Head of Projects and Infrastructure Practice Group, Kirana Sastrawijaya, and Managing Partner, Pramudya A. Oktavinanda, with the support of Ajeng Ayuningtyas, Zuhal Dwi Saputra, Angela Vania, and Luthfi Adrian, we are proud to have advised and assisted the Alliance for the Project, with a focus on regulatory matters and structuring. It is an honour for us to have the opportunity to support and contribute to the Alliance’s vision to end plastic waste in the environment.
