Our article on “Obligation to Use National Sea Transportation Company for Coal and/or Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Export: Unresolved Issues and New Provisions on Verification Procedure” was recently featured in Coal Asia Magazine Vol. 110.

In this article, we discussed the main changes of the regulation, particularly on the new verification procedures that must be carried out. We also shared our thoughts on the unresolved issues on the lack of technical guidance for the implementation of the prohibition to use foreign-flagged vessels and its implication towards foreign buyers, especially after the issuance of the newest Minister of Transportation regulation on the usage of the national sea transportation and insurance for coal and CPO exports.
