Congratulations to PT PLN Nusantara Renewables and GD Power Hong Kong for the signing of the Letter of Intent (LOI) for development of 100 MW Karangkates Floating Solar Power Plant in Karangkates, East Java, Indonesia with PT PLN (Persero).

Karangkates Project – which is projected to produce electricity up to 129 GWh to fulfill the electricity needs in Java Island, Indonesia and is expected to reduce carbon emissions up to 180,000 ton of CO2 per year – will become the second largest floating solar photovoltaic power plant in Indonesia after the 145 MWac Cirata Floating Solar Power Plant (a project in which UMBRA was also involved back in 2020).

Led by our Pramudya A. Oktavinanda (Head of Merger & Acquisition Practice Group) and Kirana Sastrawijaya (Head of Projects & Infrastructure Practice Group) as well as supported by senior associates Dhea Gita Pramesti and associates Shinta Wulandari Basuki, Yorda Lazuardi, and Risca Piscensia Haryanto, we have assisted PT PLN Nusantara Renewables in the pre-development phase of the Karangkates Project.

We are pleased to be able to assist the parties in achieving the crucial milestone of this project and be a part of another historical milestone in the development of renewable projects in Indonesia to support the goal of Government of Indonesia in increasing the use of renewable energy by approximately 23% in 2025.
