
Amelia Rohana Sonang is a Senior Associate at UMBRA, specializing in power and renewable energy project development, as well as project finance. She has represented prominent international and local clients, including PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) and its subsidiaries, in numerous high-profile power and infrastructure deals. Her expertise spans drafting and negotiating a wide range of project documents, such as power purchase agreements (PPAs) for various types of power plants, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and fuel supply contracts.
With extensive experience in the ever-evolving regulatory landscape Indonesia’s power and energy sector, she’s been trusted to handle landmark energy projects. Her portfolio includes the development of the 145 MWac Cirata Floating PV Plant, being one of the largest solar floating PV plants in Southeast Asia. She also played a pivotal role in the proposed early retirement of coal-fired power plant program under Indonesia’s energy transition strategy, which involves complex acquisition of power plant assets and refinancing of project loans.
Amelia obtained her LL.M degree from Columbia University in the City of New York with a full-ride scholarship from Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance and is a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI).
