UMBRA Supports #MengalirkanKebaikan: Bringing Clean Water to Adonara
Access to clean water is something many of us encounter every day without a second thought. Yet for communities in parts of Indonesia, it remains a challenge that directly affects health, livelihoods, and everyday life.
As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a positive impact beyond our professional work, UMBRA is proud to support the #MengalirkanKebaikan hingga Adonara initiative, a clean water program led by Yayasan Tunas Bakti Nusantara (YTBN) for communities in Ile Boleng, Adonara Island, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara.

The initiative responds to a longstanding challenge faced by communities in Ile Boleng. The area’s hilly terrain limited suitable water sources, and aging pipeline infrastructure have made reliable access to clean water difficult. In some villages, water distribution must be shared on a rotating basis, while deteriorating pipes further disrupt supply.
Through the first phase of #MengalirkanKebaikan, YTBN and its collaborators installed 386 galvanized iron pipes spanning approximately 2.3 kilometres. The project has helped provide access to clean drinking water for 10 villages, reaching approximately 1,380 families or 4,294 people, while increasing the flow of water from the source by approximately three litres per second.
But there is still more to be done.

The second phase of the program seeks to rehabilitate the remaining approximately 5.8 kilometres of the existing pipeline network, helping create a more stable, safe, and sustainable water supply while extending its benefits to more communities across Adonara.
UMBRA is grateful for the opportunity to take part in this effort. For us, supporting the initiative is about more than infrastructure. Reliable access to clean water can support better health, greater security for families, and stronger communities. It is also a reminder of what can be achieved when organisations, communities, volunteers, and individuals come together around a shared purpose.

The spirit behind #MengalirkanKebaikan is, quite literally, about allowing kindness to flow. UMBRA is pleased to contribute to that journey and to stand alongside YTBN and everyone involved in bringing the program forward.
We also invite our colleagues, clients, friends, and wider community to learn more about the initiative and, where possible, join the collective effort to help bring clean water to more families in Adonara.
To learn more, collaborate, or contribute to this cause, you can visit YTBN’s website at https://www.baktinusantara.org/ or reach out to them via Instagram at @ytbn.id.
Every contribution can become part of something larger — helping clean water, and the opportunities it brings, continue to flow.
