Roundtable Discussion on Financing Frameworks for Blue Carbon Ecosystem Protection and Management

We’re proud to share that our Counsel, Angela Vania Rustandi, was recently invited to speak at the Roundtable Discussion on Financing Frameworks for Blue Carbon Ecosystem Protection and Management, hosted by the Ministry of National Development Planning of the Republic of Indonesia (Kementerian Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional/Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional Republik Indonesia – Bappenas) through the Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund (ICCTF), in collaboration with the World Resources Institute (WRI).

Vania spoke on the topic: “Aspek Hukum dan Kelembagaan dalam Pendanaan Proyek Karbon Biru (Legal and Institutional Aspects of Blue Carbon Project Financing)”, where she shared legal insights on Indonesia’s carbon trading regulations and the economic value of blue carbon in the marine sector.

The discussion brought together public and private stakeholders to explore both commercial and non-profit financing mechanisms that can support the protection and sustainable management of blue carbon ecosystems. Vania highlighted the critical role of legal and institutional frameworks in ensuring that these financing pathways are viable, accountable, and aligned with Indonesia’s climate goals.

We’re honoured to support this important dialogue on the future of climate finance and environmental stewardship in Indonesia.
