Carbon Trading Updates for EuroCham – Indonesia Regulatory Framework on Carbon Trading

We recently had the opportunity to participate as speakers in a focused discussion hosted by EuroCham, the European Business Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, on the country’s evolving regulatory framework for carbon trading.

Senior Partner Kirana Sastrawijaya and Counsel Angela Vania Rustandi represented our firm in an engaging and insightful session. The discussion explored several key aspects of carbon trading in Indonesia, including sector-specific frameworks for power plants and forestry, the establishment of a carbon exchange, and the introduction of a carbon tax.

As part of our ongoing efforts to support regulatory clarity and cross-sector collaboration, we’re happy to be able to provide a platform where ideas, insights, and practical challenges can be openly discussed. Our participation in this discussion is one of the many ways we help drive meaningful conversations around Indonesia’s energy transition.

Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with various international organizations, including EuroCham. These partnerships allow for mutual learning and the sharing of practical perspectives on complex regulatory issues. Beyond client work, we also contribute to regulatory studies in the fields of renewable energy and carbon markets, and we value the exchange of insights that comes from these kinds of engagements.

Big thanks to the EuroCham team for having us and for creating the space for such an open, constructive dialogue. We truly appreciate the opportunity to be part of it.
