We are pleased to have our head of Power and Infrastructure Practice Group, Kirana Sastrawijaya, and our senior associate, Angela Vania Rustandi, as featured speakers at Executive Talk Show Jababeka NZICC Carbon Series titled “Legal Approach in Carbon Financing Ecosystem: Carbon Tax & Carbon Trading.” This event was attended by 26 company representatives, consisting of members of the Jababeka Net Zero Industrial Cluster Community (NZICC) and Executive Tenants of Jababeka Cikarang City, with the objective to promote and enhance sustainability values and industrial decarbonization efforts within Jababeka and its tenants.
Kirana and Vania provided in-depth insights into the regulatory framework and recent developments surrounding carbon trading and carbon tax. Drawing from their extensive experience in managing various carbon trading projects in Indonesia, particularly following the issuance of carbon trading presidential regulation, they shed light on the common challenges faced by business actors in developing carbon projects and the legal issues that need to be addressed to accelerate carbon trading across various sectors in Indonesia.
Jababeka, as an industrial area with a diverse array of tenants, holds great potential in aiding Indonesia’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
