DOLC Talks 2024 – The Future of Legal Practice: How AI and Technology are Transforming the Industry
We are pleased to share that our Senior Partner, Ahmad Zakaria, was honored to be invited as a speaker at the Days of Law Career 2024 Talks, held at Kuningan City Ballroom. The event, themed ‘The Future of Legal Practice: How AI and Technology Are Transforming the Industry,’ was a part of the Main Event and open to the public with the aim of preparing law students and graduates for a wider range of career opportunities.
During his session, Ahmad Zakaria delved deep into the dynamic realm of AI development in Indonesia and its role in the legal profession. He explored the potential impact of AI on the industry’s future, unraveling both the potential benefits and drawbacks of AI integration. He also discussed examples of its implementation that have been carried out by our firm. This discussion also explored the effectiveness of using AI in performing legal tasks, particularly administrative and research tasks, which are closely tied to AI regulations in Indonesia, including regulations issued by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (MoCI), such as the recent circular letter.
AI’s integration into legal practice promises unparalleled efficiency, time savings, and elevated standards in document review and legal research. However, it has limitations, and it cannot entirely replace human judgment in legal tasks. Specifically, it may struggle to understand nuanced and context-specific legal cases that require human judgment, empathy, and a deep understanding of cultural and social context.
