BLS FH UI – Indonesian Power Purchase Agreement: Evolution, Bankability, and Development

We are delighted to have our projects & infrastructure associate, Yorda Lazuardi, to speak in the External Study which was recently held by Energy and Mineral Resources Division of Business Law Society FH UI to discuss the Indonesian power purchase agreements.

Yorda discussed in detail (i) the evolution of its generations, (ii) main provision of the PPA, (iii) the bankability items for the lenders, and (iv) the new developments of PPA in the current generation. Yorda shared his knowledge and experience in assisting state-owned offtaker, independent power producers, and the lenders in developing and financing renewable energy power projects in Indonesia encompassing solar, wind, and geothermal.

Yorda also shared his journey on becoming an energy lawyer at UMBRA – highlighting numerous opportunities in running high-profile deals and working with award-winning lawyers at a market-leading projects & infrastructure practice group led by Kirana Sastrawijaya.

This seminar was participated by law students from several universities throughout Indonesia and it was surprisingly exciting as the participants, considering their young age, had an impressive understanding of the development of Indonesian power projects which was evidenced by their thought-provoking questions.

It is a pleasure for us to participate in this knowledge-sharing seminar as one of our pro-bono activities since we always believe our method of rigorously training the next generation of lawyers from their formative years resulting the best brains in the Indonesian legal market.
