Indonesia Energy Transition Dialogue (IETD) 2023 – Workshop on Policy and Finance
Recently, our Senior Partner and Head of Power, Energy, and Infrastructure Practice Group, Kirana Sastrawijaya spoke in the Indonesia Energy Transition Dialogue (IETD) 2023, which is held by Indonesia Clean Energy Forum (ICEF) alongside with Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR).
This year, IETD focuses on discussing strategies to accelerate energy transition in the power generation sector that have been set both in the medium term according to Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) program and in the long term based on the 2050 Net Zero Emission target. Kirana shared the panel with Mr. Zulfikar Manggau, Senior Specialist Project Management and Power Generation of PT (PLN) Persero) and Arjun Dutt, Senior Programme Lead at CEEW Centre for Energy Finance.
Our Kirana spoke about “How to Standardize Renewable Energy PPA with Fair Risk Allocation” where she highlighted consideration of bankable PPAs that have been proven successful in obtaining financing in Indonesia and discussed the evolving perspective of stakeholders in looking to bankability in Indonesian market. She also discussed the necessity of providing flexibility for parties to adopt the evolving changes in the renewable market, prevent potential legal issues, adapt to advancements in emerging technologies, conduct financial assessments to substantiate risk allocation decisions, and cross-country comparisons, as part of the standardization process.
