ICC YAAF: Managing Projects and Energy Disputes
On 4 July, our Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Associate, Ramadinan Saptara, moderated and spoke at an ICC Arbitration Young Arbitration & ADR Forum (ICC YAAF) event on the topic of “Managing Projects & Energy Disputes” at Alila SCBD. Prior to the panel discussion, our Nikki Krisadtyo, as ICC YAAF Representative for South Asia, also delivered his opening remarks at the event.
Ramadinan was joined by distinguished speakers:
- Mohamad Edwin (Director, PT Kalimantan Jawa Gas)
- Kate Lan (Counsel, Carey Olsen, Singapore)
- Hanna Azkiya (Associate, King & Spalding, Singapore)
- Indiana Rai (Deputy Director, Arbitration & ADR, ICC Indonesia)
The panel engaged in a lively discussion on the management of disputes in projects and the energy sector, touching upon the topics of mitigating risks of disputes arising and ways to minimize the impacts a dispute has on a project. The panel also discussed the effective management of arbitration proceedings and options a party could take to resolve a dispute besides formal legal proceedings.
The event was a full house. It was wonderful to see industry practitioners get together and exchange ideas and experiences in the Q&A and networking session.
The event was organized by ICC YAAF with the support of ICC Indonesia and UMBRA – Strategic Legal Solutions.
