Focus Group Discussion (FGD): “Roadmap for Carbon Trading and Carbon Tax Policy in Indonesia”
Our Head of Power and Renewable Practice Group, Kirana Sastrawijaya, was recently invited by Universitas Gadjah Mada to contribute to a focus group discussion (FGD) called “Roadmap for Carbon Trading and Carbon Tax Policy in Indonesia.” The FGD was also attended by the representatives from Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Finance, PLN, PT. Krakatau Posco, and the Indonesian Renewable Energy Society – each of them provided their valuable remarks and experiences on carbon trading and carbon tax.
Kirana gave her legal insights relating to the development of carbon exchange and imposition of carbon tax in Indonesia. She highlighted the current regulatory frameworks and further policy and regulations needed to support a seamless implementation of carbon market and carbon tax in Indonesia.
It was an inspiring and interactive discussion filled with innovative ideas proposed and discussed in depth by the participants. We are grateful to be able to participate in carbon-related discussions with influential stakeholders from various backgrounds and sectors.
