We are honoured to have our head of power and infrastructure partner Kirana Sastrawijaya delivered her insights on carbon trading in the Power Plant Sub-Sector at the 2023 Carbon Trading Outlook Conference titled “Unlocking Carbon Trading Opportunities and Reducing Emissions in Indonesia’s Energy and Mining Sector on 24 May 2023, along with other notable speakers from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, PT PLN (Persero), PT Pertamina Lubricants, PT Pertamina New and Renewable Energy, Asean Centre for Energy (ACE), PT Bank Mandiri, Asosiasi Produsen Listrik Swasta Indonesia, Indonesia Center for Renewable Energy Studies (ICRES), PT ERM Indonesia, and many more, who had an immense dedication in accelerating the carbon trading projects in Indonesia.

During her session, Kirana highlighted the main provisions of carbon trading under MEMR Reg 16/2022 that would have substantial impacts on both fossil and renewable power plants. Deriving from her years of practical experiences, she also talked about the key considerations for various stakeholders in conducting carbon trading in the electricity sector.

Our participation in the constructive dialogue on carbon-related matters has been a remarkable experience. We look forward to having another interactive discussion and continuing to play an essential role in the advancement of the emission reduction actions in Indonesia.
