The Signing of the PPA for Development of the 70 MW Wind Power Plant with 10 MW/10MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan
Congratulations to PT PLN (Persero), Total Eren, PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk, and PT PJB Investasi for the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for development of the 70 MW Wind Power Plant with 10MW/10 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, Indonesia.
This project will be the first utility-scale wind power plant in Indonesia which is equipped with BESS technology to overcome the intermittency issues which will set a new standard for intermittent renewable power projects in the future. The project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 220.000 tonnes annually and contribute to reaching the national carbon dioxide emission reduction target of 34.8%. In addition, this project also allows the country to get one of the lowest electricity tariffs in the history of Indonesia’s power sector.
Led by our Head of Power and Renewable Practice Group, Kirana Sastrawijaya and supported by associates Yorda Lazuardi, Shafira Nadya Sembiring, and Angela Vania Rustandi, we are pleased to be able to assist the parties in achieving the crucial milestone of this project and be a part of another historical milestone in the development of renewable projects in Indonesia to support the goal of Government of Indonesia in increasing the use of renewable energy by approximately 23% in 2025. We look forward to making greater contributions in the future!
