Coal Metal Asia Magazine Vol.146 Article: MEMR Regulation 16/2022: Kick-starting carbon trading for coal-fired power plants?
It gives us great pleasure to announce our most recent article on “MEMR Regulation 16/2022: Kick-starting carbon trading for coal-fired power plants?” was published in Coal Asia Volume 146.
MEMR Reg 16/2022 is the first sectoral regulation concerning carbon trading for the power plant sub-sector which hopefully will kickstart carbon trading for coal-fired power plants and new and renewable energy power plants. We are pleased to have the opportunity to share our insights and views on the implementation of carbon trading in the electricity sector.
In this article, our senior power and renewable partner Kirana Sastrawijaya alongside our associates, Angela Vania Rustandi, Kimp Yustisiana Dewinta Hermawan, Indriyane Vera Natalia, and Zuhal Dwi Saputra highlighted the key provisions of MEMR Reg 16/2022 and key points that need to be considered by various stakeholders in the electricity sector in carrying out carbon trading, e.g.: the timeframe for establishing a greenhouse gas emission ceiling for coal-fired power plants, the carbon trading mechanics in the electricity sector, and a number of reporting obligations that business actors must perform.
We gratefully thank Coal Asia, one of Indonesia’s prominent mining business magazines, for featuring our publication in their magazine.
