Asian Forum for Arbitration Counsel

Our Melati Siregar, Head of Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group, was invited to speak and co-lead in a panel at this year’s “Asian Forum for Arbitration Counsel” hosted by Cambridge Forums at the Capella, Singapore from 30 November to 2 December 2022. The forum is an invitation-only event, which is aimed at practitioners who are at the peak of their legal careers.

The forum was attended by market leaders from various jurisdictions in the region. This allowed for engaging and lively discussions on recent developments on arbitration in Asia.

As arbitration practitioners, we are constantly faced with issues of “internationalization” versus “localization” of arbitration, arbitrators’ conflicts of interest, as well as different aspects of domestic and international arbitration, including the enforcement of awards. Whatever the issues may be, we always strive to resolve disputes efficiently, which is the principle of every dispute resolution mechanism including arbitration. We greatly appreciate opportunities to share invaluable knowledge with fellow practitioners and discuss how practitioners can take part in improving efficiency in the practice of cross-border dispute resolution.

Such a pleasant business trip to close the year! We look forward to other opportunities to contribute to our field and meet likeminded and highly esteemed practitioners.
