77th Indonesia Electricity Day 2022 – Post G20 Summit: Energy Transition Road Map to Achieve Net Zero Emission in 2060
It is been our pleasure to be invited by Masyarakat Ketenagalistrikan Indonesia to celebrate the 77th Indonesia Electricity Day at Hotel Mulia Senayan, 30th of November 2022. The main theme of this event is: “Post G20 Summit: Energy Transition Road Map to Achieve Net Zero Emission in 2060”, where our Head of Projects, Energy and Infrastructures Practice Group, Kirana Sastrawijaya was invited to be a speaker at Panel Discussion of Driving the Energy Transition through Government Regulation. Kirana shared the panel with other distinguished speakers, i.e., Wanhar the Director of Development Program of Directorate General of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Aznan Ezraie Ariffin CSO Strategy Management of TN, and Gondia Sokhna Seck, the Programme Officer, Policy Advice, IRENA. Kirana presented a broad overview of Regulations related to the Energy Transition in Indonesia including the key considerations and existing projects related to the energy transition.
It is the hope of the market that the energy transition in Indonesia will continue to grow, where new and renewable energy will be the new baseload to energize Indonesia’s power grid. Seeing the development of solar and wind power plants in Indonesia already come at a lower cost than existing fossil fuels in most countries it is projected to become increasingly cost-competitive globally. We hope that the Indonesia’s goals to expedite the energy transition will be realized soon with the support of the government, international support and all stakeholders. This event which also celebrates the national electricity day takes the theme of energy transation and we are happy to be a part of this event.
