Webinar – Bioshare Series #7 Event “Carbon Mechanisms in the Bioenergy Sector: The Implementation and Potential Benefits”
We are honored to have our Senior Partner, Kirana Sastrawijaya, the Head of Power, Energy, and Infrastructure Practice Group, to speak at Bioshare Series #7 event “Carbon Mechanisms in the Bioenergy Sector: The Implementation and Potential Benefits”, together with other notable speakers, e.g., the Head of Center for Climate Change and Multilateral Financing Policy, Fiscal Policy Agency, Ministry of Finance, the Director of Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Measurement Reporting and Verification, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and representatives from Carbon Offset & Green Energy Services, Climate Partner, Rumah Energi Foundation and PT Perkebunan Nusantara V. The event was also attended by audiences from various backgrounds, which led to a lively discussion among the speakers and participants.
In this event, Kirana discussed the legal implication of the Carbon Pricing Policy for the Bioenergy Sector in Indonesia and the relation between Presidential Regulation 98/2021 and the existing bioenergy projects. The discussion also covered the things that need to be considered by businesses in conducting carbon policy in the Bioenergy Sector, especially in regard to Sertifikat Pengurangan Emisi GRK, the right to carbon, and the mechanism of registration in SRN PPI.
Further, Kirana also discussed the aspects that require clarification in Perpres 98/2021 and its implementing regulations such as the mechanism of carbon trading outside Perpres 98/2021, further provisions on the carbon trading for the Bioenergy Sector, and the urgency to enact implementing regulations for carbon pricing in Bioenergy Sector.
We hope that carbon development can further be developed in Indonesia and we are happy to be able to contribute to the development of carbon policy in Indonesia.
