The signing of the two Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for the development of Solar Power Plant in West and East Bali, with a total capacity of 2 x 25 MWp
Congratulations to PT PLN (Persero) and the consortium of Medco Power Indonesia and Solar Philippines, for the signing of two Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for the development of Solar Power Plant in West and East Bali, with a total capacity of 2 x 25 MWp.
Led by our Senior Partner Kirana Sastrawijaya and Associates Amelia Rohana Sonang, Dinda Khamasasyiah (Asya), Shafira Nadya Sembiring, Naomi Elvienne, we are honoured to have assisted the parties in closing the PPAs for these important projects that signify the Indonesian Government commitment to achieve Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission (NZE) for the period of 2050 – 2070. This Project was the fruit of the first ever successful direct selection process, a new procurement method that was applied to renewable energy power projects based on MEMR Regulation 50/2017. PLN was able to get an electricity price below USD 6¢ per kWh (https://lnkd.in/g5fsuTwy), a competitive electricity price for solar power.
The signing was part of the “Strategic Cooperation Towards Carbon Neutral in 2060” in Indonesia’s G20 Presidency event and was personally witnessed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Arifin Tasrif, where he highlighted the importance of the projects in making new breakthroughs for Indonesia’s sustainable energy transition as well as meeting the Government’s current 23% NRE target in 2025.
Congratulations for all the parties involved! We are proud to be part of yet another significant history in the development of renewable projects in Indonesia and we look forward to making greater contributions in the future.
