Representing Lendable in the provision of a total of USD 50 million financing commitment to Amartha for the financing of women micro-entrepreneurs in Indonesia

On the heels of Kartini day and the ever-present need to promote women’s empowerment in Indonesia, we are delighted to announce that UMBRA has managed to facilitate the successful provision of a total of USD 50 million financing commitment from Lendable (a global group providing financing to fintechs in emerging and frontier markets) to Amartha for immediate use for the financing of women micro-entrepreneurs in Indonesia.

We are happy to have played a role in such a deal that will hopefully bring forth positive contributions to the Indonesian society and empower women-led businesses. By providing debt to the leading fintech that channels crucial funding for female micro-entrepreneurs in rural Indonesia during the current turbulent times, this important financing project highlights another critical development in supporting financial inclusion for the unbanked and underbanked segments of society.

Our team, led by Putu Raditya Nugraha together with Vulkania Neysa Almandine and Shella Felicia, assisted Lendable on the Indonesian law matters of the transaction. We would also like to thank K&L Gates for their great collaboration in this project.

Congratulations to all the parties involved!
