How Better Regulation Can Shape the Future of Indonesia’s Electricity Sector
We are delighted to be given the opportunity to contribute to this publication by Asian Development Bank (ADB) titled “How Better Regulation Can Shape the Future of Indonesia’s Electricity Sector.”
In this publication, our Senior Partner Kirana Sastrawijaya and UMBRA team provided (i) regulatory analysis on how policy formulation and decision-making are currently implemented in the Indonesian electricity sector; (ii) legal analysis on the establishment of a dedicated regulatory body that is aimed to debottleneck issues and accelerate the development of electricity sector in Indonesia; and (iii) legal analysis on how the establishment of the regulatory body would be in line with the concept of “State Control” based on the 1945 Indonesian Constitution. As part of the analysis, we also compared similar regulatory body forms that have been implemented in other sectors in Indonesia.
We hope that we can continue contributing to the legal development on the electricity sector in Indonesia as part of our commitment to be a part of legal development in Indonesia.
