Coal Asia Magazine Vol.121 Article: Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Development to Welcome Electricity-Based Vehicle Era in Indonesia

We are pleased to kick off 2021 with our article on “Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Development to Welcome Electricity-Based Vehicle Era in Indonesia,” which was featured in Coal Asia volume 121.

In this article, our senior partner Kirana Sastrawijaya with our associates Dinda Imani Khamasasyiah and Angela Vania Rustandi, and our legal assistant Besafina Hanan Amarany discuss the market trend, legal framework, and legal challenges of BEV development in Indonesia.

The Indonesian market has been showing a positive response toward BEV. Big international automobile manufacturers have expressed interest in investing in electric vehicles and battery manufacturing in Indonesia. Several domestic transportation-related companies have also shown their support to accelerate the switch from conventional vehicles to electric vehicles. In response to the stretching in the market, the Indonesian national and some local governments have issued regulations to ensure a seamless BEV development in Indonesia. We hope these will further accelerate BEV development in Indonesia.

We thank Coal Asia, one of the leading mining business magazines in Indonesia, for featuring our article in their publication.
