S&P Global Platts Quoted UMBRA’s Partners on Coal Exporters Article

Two of our senior partners, Kirana Sastrawijaya and Reggy Firmansyah, are quoted by S&P Global Platts, the leading independent provider of information, benchmark prices and analytics for the energy and commodities markets and also member of Standard & Poor’s Global, in their article: Indonesia postpones move requiring coal exporters to use national carriers (https://lnkd.in/fYFUN8r).

Kirana and Reggy discuss the ambiguity regarding the obligation of Indonesian coal exporters to use Indonesian sea carriers for their export activities and further argue that the vessels should not be limited only to Indonesian-flagged vessels as the regulation mainly focuses on who controls the vessels instead of the nationality of the vessels. Given the potential impact of the regulation, we still need to see the next move of the Indonesian government and whether this ambiguity will be resolved in the near future prior to this regulation’s actual implementation date.
