We are proud to have our Melati Siregar, Senior Partner and Head of the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group, invited as a distinguished speaker at the LAPS SJK Law Fair Webinar Series, hosted by the Lembaga Alternatif Penyelesaian Sengketa Sektor Jasa Keuangan (LAPSSJK), along with dini herdini, Director of Legal and Compliance of PT Bank SMBC Indonesia Tbk, with the theme of “Negotiation Strategy and Drafting of Arbitration Clause for Syndicated Credit Agreement.” This event was aimed at deepening the knowledge of legal counsels in financial institutions on the resolution of disputes relating to syndicated credit agreements through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in Indonesia, including arbitration administered by LAPS SJK.
Melati delivered an insightful presentation, delving into the intricacies of syndicated credit agreements, including security and guarantee agreements, and cross-default. Melati also discussed how to navigate and resolve disputes through various methods, understand the key differences between court litigation and arbitration, and develop strategies for crafting robust arbitration clauses. She also covered essential topics such as drafting clear arbitration clauses, choosing the right governing law, and avoiding pitfalls.
