USD 60 Million Funding for AwanTunai Expand MSME Financing in Indonesia

AwanTunai, an Indonesian fintech company, has successfully raised up to USD 60 million in funding from a consortium of investors arranged by Accial Capital, including Accial Capital Fund, Variant Alternative Income Fund, Developing World Markets (DWM), responsAbility, Symbiotics, and Saison Investment Management. This funding will support AwanTunai in expanding access to financing for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), addressing the credit gap for underserved businesses, and driving sustainable growth in Indonesia’s economy.

UMBRA – Strategic Legal Solutions acted as the Indonesian legal consultant for this transaction. Led by Putu Raditya Nugraha, our Head of Banking and Finance Practice Group, and supported by senior associate Jesseline Tiopan and associate Nabila Meiwindita, we assisted with the structuring, documentation, and regulatory compliance to ensure a smooth process. This collaboration reflects UMBRA’s commitment to supporting projects that promote financial inclusion and economic development in Indonesia.

This milestone underscores the importance of innovative financial solutions in empowering MSMEs, while highlighting the significance of partnerships with global and regional lenders. UMBRA is proud to have supported the parties in this initiative and looks forward to its positive impact on the MSME sector.
